James Eau de Parfum

I purchased Dulce and Missy from Sephora and thought both perfumes were outstanding, so I decided to give other Rosie Jane fragrances a try. James was a blind buy during Rosie jane's big July sale. I love gardenia, and although I've never smelled fig, I'm a sucker for fruity scents, so I was certain I'd love James, too. This one missed the mark for me, though. Namely, it is just strange how 3 otherwise lovely notes blend together to make something that smells bizarre. The gardenia itself is heavenly and the amber lends a bit of warmth to the overall composition. The fig is not fruity, though. Instead, it smells green and a bit swampy, which makes it stick out like a sore thumb. Before purchasing James, I read other online reviews to get an idea of what the perfume was like, and I have to agree with one reviewer who said it smells a bit like infection. I am the odd man out with this assessment, though, because most people say the scent is heavenly, so I take what I say with a grain of salt
